    Pelican with Fish

I haven't done anything with this picture because I'm not sure if I can do what I want to do or how to start.

    Pelican with Fish

I would like to remove the wing blocking some of the pelican with the fish. I will be using photoshop elements 9.

    Thanks
    Diane

Diane - I'm not the world's expert at cloning or knowing what you can do with what software package. But that seems a huge task. It would be fine if you had a background with a flat tone. But you've got such a variety of light and shade and colour in the water and then on the bird with the fish, that trying to match everything in order to hide that wing would, for me, be an impossible job.

I'm afraid I'd write it off as undo-able (which, of course, will just prompt someone to prove me wrong)

    Never say never...Pelican with Fish

Diane: I'm just learning PS Elements 10, so did the cloning in Lightroom 3.6. Also increased
the saturation a little, and increased the luminance of the orange and yellow channels to better
    highlight the pelican's features:

Great capture to hone your PP skills on Diane! It'll take some practice but Mike's efforts can give you an idea of what can be accomplished.

Nice job, Mike! You're really getting good at this!

Wow! Thanks Mike it can be done I can't wait to give it a try. I think it will probably take me a while but will definitely be worth it in the end.

Here is first attempt I got kind of sloppy around the water and the edge of the bird will probably start again.

Great capture and the clone fix worked very well.

Neat! If that's your first attempt, you'll be giving Mike a run for his money in no time!

Now that's not much of a challenge for her Frank, but when she catches up to
you then that will be quite an accomplishment ..
