    Trees do fall

How lucky was this ... just minor damage to a shed!

Wind from the west a few days ago took out this large pine tree in our garden.
Wind from the north would have taken our house
Wind from the east would have taken the garage and car
Wind from the south would have blacked out the whole neighbourhood and blocked a road

Now we are checking all our trees And no snow so we can get to clear it
    Trees do fall
Birds are not impressed with the new lay out ...

    January. Norway. No snow!

Ron - Think that must have been the same storm that hit us earlier this week. Huge amounts of damage. Transportation in chaos. Lots and lots of property damage. Lots of homes still without electricity. Amazingly no deaths or even serious injury.

Won't even make brilliant firewood, will it?

    Hei Donald.
First time I've not seen snow at this time of the year, though we now have a bit. How the weather has changed! We do tend to cop the weather from your neck of the woods as it belts across the Atlantic ... was a nice NYD present, takk!

Its been cut up now but the root is still buried in the shed and will have to be lifted out 'cause its too dangerous to try to cut it. And guess what ... another old pine tree is coming down as a safety measure. Still have a lot to go at, we live in our own small 'forest' of pine and silver birch.

Firewood? Not so good, but it can be offered 'free' User collects

Did you at least salvage the bird house?

You bet, Bob. Easier to get to now but birds ain't so impressed
But I still have to get the root out of the shed ... its pushing it out of shape and the various wood doors are jammed. Time to call in the 'heavies' ... but its snowed
