Taken the other evening after a long day sightseeing in Windsor using ambient light only. The eyes look a little off but not sure if that's due to my lack of focus accuracy or her complicated prescription glasses.

Nice portrait!

About the eyes, I believe the camera would take the glasses into consideration when focusing: if the focus was on the eyes and it did not look sharp (high contrast) the camera focusing mechanism would adjust the setting to make it sharp with the glasses. So it must be because it focused on the glasses itself and not the eyes.

Also the hair looks a little bit too shiny in over the forehead which I am not sure if it si the lighting or sharpening. Anyway, it can be easily fixed in PS I assume.

Cheers!

I think that part of the problem is simply lack of depth of field.

Sorry, it was arranged at the last minute. Next time I'll let you know. I'll post some shots later from the visit.

Seen one from Eton High Street in the comp already

Sure thing, be good to meet someone and know I'm not talking to a supercomputer somewhere in all this banter

Well spotted My brain is very far from a super computer. If you (or anyone else in the area) are interested I'm just about to start a project to shoot London streets and buildings between now and next year on either a Saturday or Sunday. Maybe wort making a meeting of it?

It doesn't bother me at all. The explanation Alis gave is probably the right one.

It is indeed but the way it is chosen is right isn't it Colin ?

However, the two yellow dots on the right top are not very well are they ?

And what happened at the bottom with the blask canvas or whatever it was ? There is a white line... And on the right... and on the left...

Thank you for posting Peter !

This is an excellent idea Peter. I wish I could be there with you ...

Peter no. Look at the background Peter. Look at his expression.
It's the picture too dense in terms of color ? Or is it just my monitor ?
A little difficult work during a party or a family reunion isn't it ?
Go there, stay there, etc etc.

Good lighting... Was this with the TupperFong thing ?

But isn't it too unsharped on her teeth ?

Well taken Alis...

Taken makes me remind of something... I just wonder what is it ...

She was over for dinner, was holding her granddaughter who was trying to scape, and at the same time talking. I was trying to take a picture of the kid, but then at the end snapped a photo of her. That is why she is looking to the right.

Yes, it is done using the Gary Fong Tupperware. I know use his latest invention, the Compressible Tupperware. I was on their mailing list and got a mail one day that we have limited numbers and will give you discount if you order right now and I did. It is not that different, but since I only had the cloudy type before, this one is more clear and was good buy for me, plus I got $10 discount. Other than that I don't think it is really that big of deal that it is compressible.

And about the teeth, may be. I just know I had to whiten her last two-three upper teeth.

Amazing it looks like studio portraits sort of and posed but this was anything but someone sitting quite posing for me. Actually I am yet to find someone, anyone, to sit there (where I want them to sit, not just where ever they are) for me 1 minute, so that I can check my settings and try to take a few pictures and adjust a few things .
