    Northwest Cove Fishing Village

I lived in Hubbards, Nova Scotia for about 8 years and used to love to drive the Lighthouse Route in that area. One of the neatest fishing villages, aside from Peggy's Cove on the other side of St. Margaret's Bay, is Northwest Cove on the Aspotogan Peninsula.

It makes me yearn to go back, maybe renting a house there for a week vacation.

Those rowing boats look fast although I was wondering about stability. But amidships they seem to carry their beam to water level so I suppose that helps considerably.

They are certainly a design which I haven't seen before.

Frank, this comment from Geoff seems to confirm the impression that this photograph, and everything in it, appears to be squashed. When resized to a 3:2 ratio (1600x1067) it looks a more natural and appealing image to me.

Indeed. I tried to streatch the image to get the 2:1 ratio and that is usually doable on landscapes but in this case it didn't work out all that well. It's not nice to fool Mother Nature! Thank you for commenting, Philip. Sometimes I can't see the forest for the trees and whenever someone provides this kind of valuable feedback it helps me improve my vision. Here it is using the SOOC ratio.

I think it looks great, Frank, but the more important thing is - do you think so too?
