    Baby, We Can't Get Much Higher!

    Experimenting with the Noise Reduction in ACR to see if I need a stand-alone NR application. This was a cropped image that had a fair amount of noise in it.

    Somehow got a duplicate and can't delete it!

    Frank,

    Without the original it is hard to tell just how well it worked but the result looks quite good to me.

    Here is the image before trying ACR Noise Reduction on the JPG after post processing. This was about a 1/3 crop from the SOOC. You can see a fair amount of speckles. particularly in the log, which was almost black in the SOOC image.

    I can see a significant amount of detail loss. Perhaps you went a little too far.
