Loved the shapes in this sunflower as it just hung on to life .

    Hi Daisy,

Nice capture. Your image has wonderful tones.

Is there some room with the original to add some 'breathing' space to the left of the flower? The main flow of the image is from right to left and the flower is facing out of the picture.

As an alternative I held my hand over the right side of the photo and liked the squarer crop since the flower face is then more central.

    Regards,

    Alex

What a difference that bit of extra space makes, the second one gets my vote, beautiful. Good eye Alex

I thought the 1st was great and wouldn't have thought to give it room. Great stuff Daisy.

I like the extra space. Good job.

Shame you can't find the original. I like the little bit of extra black that you can see in the flower face. The second version is good too. You must have a nice collection.

    Thanks for sharing.

I like them both, but think the 2nd draws more attention to the flower, its texture and fineness of petals. Love the backlighting & the luminosity it gives.

    Cheers

Thanks everyone for your comments, Nihia, Dave..

No collection sadly Alex, and I agree that the original bloom would look better due to that extra black....simple bad housekeeping on my part but I will hunt it down. Appreciate your taking the time to look and advise.

    cheers
