It certainly is. Something we've got to keep reminding ourselves.

Thanks mike, i walked up on her as she was bedded. She stood up and let me take a few shots before running. She was around 50 feet or so.

Yes indeed donald. This day was a very bright overcast day, one of my favorite times to shoot. The light is very diffused and you can shoot most of the day with great lighting.(very important in keeping shutter speeds up for wildlife)

Thanks mark. I have lots of experience in the outdoors, and with whitetails.

The place i shoot is in a park. The deer will allow me to get closer before running. They have grown acustomed to people over the years. If i am careful in my approach and don't do anything to threaten them, they will sometimes let me get very close and allow me to walk along with them (at the distance they will allow me) as they feed. This gives me the opportunity to shoot them relaxed, doing their normal routine. I can often get shots with good eye contact(very important) and not have to worry about them bolting away.

So don't feel bad, failing miserably on 100% wild animals in normal, even for me.
