Helpful Posts: While my son and I were setting up the tree and starting to decorate, something horrible happened, but I was able to get in 'on film' so that's OK!
I know there are some distracting elements in the background and the sharpness of my 18-135 lens is poor...

I have a wickedly dark sense of humor and something like this could be Christmas card material! Much more fun than a photo of the family, wearing seasonaly (in)appropriate sweaters huddled lovingly with Sam the chocolate lab on the front porch.

Yet another Christmas decoration related incident! Such a shame! And I bet he was on Santa's "Nice" list this year, too!
At least he's lit in the Holiday Spirit! Maybe Santa won't trip over him in the middle of the night!

I like it the way it is. The warm feeling is lovely and I too think it would make a great Christmas card.

Mark and Darlene, thank you for your comments! I don't know why, I just feel like starting Christmas early this year. I have half a dozen family coming for Thanksgiving weekend and I'm pretty excited.

Honestly, after attempting to take this photo, the efs 17-55 2.8 is looking mighty nice
