    Pretty in Pink

Took this last Sat night - it is the Weston's Flour Mill on the Avon River in Northam, Western Australia.

    Comments welcomed.

That, I think, is a very well made image.

One question - Do we need so much black space around the main subject? I'm wondering why you chose to keep it just as it is and not crop a bit more tightly on the building?

That was also my first thoughts. I'm not sure about the light on the right. I think I would probably crop so as to leave the new right edge to the left of the light, and remove it.

It does seem a little too far from the 'main action'. I suspect this would create a 'stronger' centre of interest. There is plenty of spare 'blackness' on the top and bottom for a corresponding reduction in size.

    But don't crop too tight.

To be honest I don't know

This was my first attempt at doing this sort of shot and I was more concerned with trying to get the colours in and the reflection in the water. Will have a further play around with it.

And just keep remembering - It is your image and it has to represent your vision. I and others have offered our thoughts. They don't have to be accepted by you.
