Great shot James, early in the am, or before dust would yeild richer colors. I think.

It may be an illusion, but to me it seems over sharpened a bit. I agree on the lighting, a little lower sun could produce a great effect here.

It would make a great fall postcard.

I agree with Paul -looks oversharpened. Can that cause loss of colour?

    Hi,
I liked it.For me over sharpening in this situation is not bad.Maybe I cropped it not too much at the bottom where the road has no trees and should accentuate the monochromatic character painting the road with "Paint brush"with 108/70/8 on a new layer, setting the blending mode on color and opacity as Your taste says.

    Hi everyone,
Well that certainly took me out of my comfort zone i have made a few alterations based on what was said, reduced the sharpening, painted the road (never knew you could that). you people amaze me, thanks for the comments really appreciate them,
not sure this is how it should look after alterations or whether i have done it right but at least i gave it a go,
    comments!

    Hi,
It is a problem of taste, nothing more though the colours of the road are too open and too high for a road in the shadow. The cropping must be more severe to give the sensation that the trees go on and don't finish where we see.
