Re: What am I?
Hi Ken, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it. I would have liked to see the entire circle in focus and there is a bit of fuzz at about 4 o'clock that looks sharper than the ring it is attached to. It's a fascinating image that held my attention for some time as I explored the details of the colours and textures. Nice!

Re: What am I?
This is a fascinating object Ken but really does need to be pin-sharp all over to really appreciate it as Frank noted. Still a nice shot tho'

Re: What am I?
Thank you Frank and Keith for comments. The sharpening is not the best, as you say. However, position wise, it was a very difficult shot to get without actually removing the bud from the tree. And as we are hoping for self propagation of these trees I preferred not to do that. There was also a cross breeze blowing at the time and I had to try and compensate for that as well. It was the colour which caught my attention. So the shot was a compromise, which as we all know, never really do quite 'make it!' But thanks for your understanding and kind words. Very much appreciated.

Re: What am I?
Thank you for posting the sequence, Ken. All the more fascinating now!
You could try focus stacking without harming the tree I would think?
