Given the title 'Solitude' I initially thought you were taking about the birds but there were two of them. I then noticed the person on the rock. My eye keeps wanting to wonder off towards the birds so I find them a distraction. I think you needed a longer lens or get much closer to the subject so we can immediately identify with the impression you are trying to give. I think it is a case of less is more here. Maybe try a few different crops to see what would have worked if you did manage to get closer.

Let me first say that I love the mood you have captured. Some folks think solitude is a bad thing, at times I find it very necessary and refreshing. Now like Peter I was fooled by the birds at first, so I hope you dont mind I tryed a crop I thought would portray the same mood and lessen the distraction.
