Two Bridges across the Menai Straight

I hope this is not too small to see the detail. This is a panorama of five images showing both the Menai Suspension Bridge to the left and Britannia Bridge to the right. The Menai Straights separates North Wales from the Island of Anglesey. I would have preferred a better sky but the weather was not kind.

Best viewed at the larger size.

In print at least 5 feet wide; oh it would be wonderful beyond belief. It is left to imagination on a computer; and I would like to empathise how much harder it is to get a sharp clean image over kiddy size of 10 x 8 to OVER 19 x 13, but this is even bigger than that.

Cool stuff, and you got me thinking if I could do something like it.

Lovely pano Chris. Did you shoot each image in landscape or portrait mode?

Thanks for all your kind comments.

Nicola - I agree about the sky and I intend to go back when the weather is kinder. Maybe i will try a blue sky edit and see what happens.

Peter - these were shot in landscape as the distance between the bridges was quite considerable.

Thanks Chris. I did a similar very wide angle of view pano recently and did it with 10 shots on portrait mode. The reason being you lose so much height in the final image when you merge the files. I find landscape gives me a more balanced pano. The final shot was 1.4m long by around 35cm high. By the time it had a border around it and framed is made a balanced statement on the wall. I was surprised how easily PS handles the files.

Peter - I seem to get on with landscape panos better than portrait, although I am sure it is just a matter of practice. I have not experimented with PS as I use a program called The Panorama Factory, which I can highly recommend.
