Need some help - how do these look ?

Am away and only have one of those bright screen notebooks to work with for the next 8 weeks.

I was wondering how the colours looks to you - off? good?

Original pic with minor adjustments in ACR.

Looks a touch over saturated to me Bobo.

It has brought up the green algae in the water too much and the water, plus the side feathers have taken on that cast.
Either that or you may have actually made it greener in PP with a WB adjustment?

    Cheers,

    Thanks Dave.

Pic 2 was a deliberate over-saturation to see how the colours would come out. Problem is I can see the increase of green and the less then good colour of the water, but cannot see the colour cast. Grrrrr.

How does brightness and contrast in pic 2 appear to you?

Normally all I do is a bit of levels or maybe curves, bring up the details a bit, denoise and sharpen if needed.

So is the original good to go colour-wise ?

Brightness OK, might be slightly over done on contrast, but I'd revierw the histo in PP to help make those assessments, not just by eye.

    The original looks acceptable colour-wise.

    Thanks again Dave.

Should not have got one with the vivid colours type screen. They seem to make colours in pics look slightly dullish then they really are. Will need to keep things in check on this notebook!

But on the other hand, movies on those multi-hour plane trips look absolutely wonderful.....

These are a bit small to judge really, the original looks OK to me, how did you downsize, because it looks sharpened to me.

The second looks a bit more jaggedy, but the resolution, combined with the image content, is insufficient to judge whether there are say, halos.

Yes, just noticed the slight haloing.

The thing about not trying to make pics look good FOR this screen seems the way to handle pp on this notebook.
