    "White Mountains"

Two weeks ago, I had a one-day trekking on the Apuane Alps, a really beautiful mountain chain. I reached the Tambura peak, about 1900 meters on sea level, but very close to seaside! Unfortunately, during the ascension a lot of clouds partially obscured the panorama onto the mediterranean sea.
anyway, the view was spectacular: the Apuane mountains are really white, as they are completely made with the world famous Carrara Marble (Carrara is a little city on the sea just beneath these muntains): this marble is white and since the Roman age has been used for statues and buildings. Made with this marble are the Michelangelo's "David", the Siena cathedral, the Marble Arch in London, the interiors of Manila cathedral...

the road you can see leads to one of the marble mines
    thanks for viewing!
    C&C please!
    have a nice day

Your inclusion of the person in the image makes it, in my view, a very commercial image. It is very well constructed.

You have made an picture that very much shows us the scale and grandeur of the mountains.

Beautiful mountain shots Nicola...and congratulations on reaching the summit!

Not sure what would be proper, but I would only remove the 3 oval spots that are
mixed in with the sunrays, as I think they add some character to the sky portion.

Aside from the grandeur, and it is indeed a beautiful area, think back to the early fifteen hundreds and laborers from the Carrara mines hauling 5, 10, 15 and 20 ton slabs of marble down those switchback roads so Michealangelo could have the right size stone upon which to carve the David, the Pieta, Moses, Night, and countless tomb pieces for the Medici. It simply stuns me to think about it all.

Hi Nicola, if you are going to clone out the ovals, on my monitor I see a very faint circle at about 4 o'clock and another at 7 o'clock from the bottom oval. Possibly also lens flair?
