    Spring Has Sprung

It's spring "down-under" and there are some beautiful flowering trees around. Here are a couple I took in suburban front gardens in Melbourne. I'm afraid I don't know what they are.

The second one has a piece of tv antenna in the right hand side which I will clone out when I have access to my home computer again - I promise.

    C&C welcome
    Cheers Dave

Beautiful shots Dave. FWIW, those look like Cherry trees to me.

The white one could be a dogwood - their flowers are very similar to cherry blossoms. Are there dogwood trees down under?

    They are both flowering cherries.

Thanks for your comments Mike and Kris. I'm afraid my knowledge of tree types is a bit limited - we may have dogwood trees here but I'm not sure.

Looks like Mark has been typing at the same time as I. I'll defer to his better judgement - if his knowledge of trees matches his knowledge of photography he'll be correct !

I'm horrible at tree ID's also, but here in the NW we have an abundance of cherry trees, and they are also the first to flower out in the early Spring. When they do, they look just like those two.

Deductive logic works once again..(but not always!)..LOL

Mike these shots were taken in Melbourne where we are currently visiting. Where I live in Brisbane the climate is warmer and we don't get many of these types of tree.

Anyway it's nice to have a positive id.
