Agreed 100%, and good on you for stopping and capturing these in a hurry. All 3 capture the atmosphere very nicely, but I love #3 (view in lytebox) I think it is all the triangles formed by the hills and the grass that make this one stand out. Very beautiful time of day though.
I think in the second one, I would like it better if the cow was not the main subject, but rather part of the beautiful golden scenery. If this is cropped, I would love to see the same shot with more context, and if possible with the cow on a third.

Those pictures are awesome!
The picture with the horse would have to be my fav. but all are terrific and I am very glad you were able to take them before the sun went down.
Re: Balmy September Evening
Thanks for the comment Wendy.
I've cropped #2 as you suggested and I definitely prefer it.

Thanks Nathan.
Its a beautiful part of the world and when you get evenings like this everything seems to glow.
(By the way, for horse read cow ;) )
Re: Balmy September Evening
Very nice images, Mike.
They really set the mood. #3 is my favourite, of the lot.
Re: Balmy September Evening
Thanks Sahil,
Appreciate the kind words.
Re: Balmy September Evening
So I shall be the bad boy and say I like the pov (point of view) but for the I am just squinting my eyes as the sun is so bright, if you could have be more at right angles or behind you the colors of the 3rd picture would so golden and make the whole scene a relaxed view of a beautiful scene with great colors.
But this is only my opinion and so long as you like them that is what counts more than bloke in the UK who would have swapped places with you :)
Re: Balmy September Evening
Like them all, but the Sun does seem a bit overbearing in #'s 2&3.
Guess I'm the odd one, as my favorite is the first image. The colors in the clouds
are beautiful, and the setting Sun's rays are captured in the moist air of the evening.
That one overgrown shrub in the foreground needs some pruning, otherwise I think
it's a wonderful scene.

Re: Balmy September Evening
Hey thanks Mike,
Its such a tired old saying but a true one, that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
We all see everything differently, and a good thing too !
My reaction at the scene you see in the photos was not to try to portray the fields, the trees etc, but to try to capture the incredible golden light that dominated the landscape. So if Paul was squinting and you found the sun a bit too much, then I think that I've succeeded in in capturing what I was after.
Cheers,
Mike.
Re: Balmy September Evening
For me, # 2 is one of these "Oh Wow!" pictures - :)
Re: Balmy September Evening
All very good imho. Well done.
