Went down to the local Historical Society and took a whole mess of pictures of objects which were sitting around gathering dust in mundane, sadly boring displays. The aim was to try and 'lift' their individual interest quotient.

First pic was a gallon capacity stoneware liquor jug probably from the late 1800's. The second is a spanner hand made by a local blacksmith of the same era.

I love these old stoneware pots/jugs. I'm sure I'd also love a 'hygienic brew'.
These are really good historical record shots. Nice even light and faithful reproduction.

Great image of the old jug....what a find it would be to locate one of those that was still filled with
the original "liquid"..
