Willie or Jiro is fine by me.

    The Shell.

A black and white rendition of a seashell. This was shot with the 12-inch softbox. Thank you very much for viewing.

Cool. And how did you make it stand like that?

Hello, AL. Where have you been? I supported the top part of the shell with a wooden chopstick then I deleted the chopstick during the post-processing. Hope this helps.

I sold some seashells on the sea shore. Thank you for the tip.

Jiro did you use velvet for the bottom. I have been told velvet won't show any type of reflections at all. I like it.

Hello, Sam. Yes, that's the black velvet fabric I used as my "ground." it will still show some reflection from the fibers but only minimal. If I will just put the shell on a black background, it won't show any realism to it that's why I decided to preserve some of the texture of the fabric. I'm glad you like this one.

JIRO, Nice work...,I do not see any mistake. if the fabric is not the object. the exposure that you have snap out excellent, any body who have not seen a shell easily can get the picture of it .it is important .... not the fabric. if you want a solution for fabric you can do the same thing what you have done to the chopstick.is in it?

Lovely subtle tones in the almost sensuous curves of the shell, superb!
