Just a story, pics not that great.

Imagine trying to photograph the 2 little black dots in the middle of this nest that is on the top of a 12-15 storey or taller communications tower.

Well, I tried with the 70-300L and these are the only reasonably ok ones I got out of the exercise.

All hand held. Pointing straight up and trying to keep steady is really really difficult. Very heavy PP and cropping.

This will teach me not to try the impossible OR get to a 500 or longer lens.

These pics are not going to win any prizes but was fun anyway (the mosquitoes appeared happy!).

Brilliant ! What a catch. I'd stick with the lens you've got.

    Thanks John.
The 70-300L is a great lens all round. It is times like these when the range is not there for us, luckily that is not often.
