    Re: Infrared Pictures

After the 1st IR picture I shot with D7000 I manage to get another camera - a 2nd hand Nikon D40x - which I converted to Goldie IR..

The 1st picture I shot using my D40x..

Willie or Jiro is fine by me.

IR images are really interesting and unique in their own way. Thanks for sharing, Donny. I'm just wondering, since IR has a different focusing issue, how do you focus your lens when you're taking the shot? It looks too soft for me.

Thanx Willie, if you using a converted IR camera there's no difference at all, its simple as you use your normal camera...
If you are using an IR filter, now that's different.. I find it very hard to get focus 'cause the filter block all the lights, so you have to be on a very bright outdoor light...

That is what I have also read on some of my IR photography books. I remember some old lenses actually have a red dot on them to set the focus on when used in IR photography.

Yes, I've read about it too..
Like the picture I'm using IR filter, I have to shot the sun to get focused and then recompose the picture..

That's great getting your 7 year old into photography because you live in a part of the world that offers such wonderful photo ops.and not just in Switzerland, you don't need to travel far to get into the surrounding countries. Maybe she'll want to be a professional photographer- to do for a living what you love doing anyway is something most of us don't get the chance to do. I love photo 2 with the orange background.

I can't cc these,Donny, I don't have the experience and apart from that I can't see anything to critique anyway-they're all stunning.
