Cameras should be handbags or Galahs galore

In a post somewhere earlier there was a discussion, totally unrelated to the original post, about always carrying at least one camera about your person when ever you stir from the house; you never know what you might encounter. Since joining CIC I have become a member of the 3F's club... a Foto Fetish Fanatic
So.this arvo when driving down a back street in our small country town, I came across this group feeding on a nature strip. Of course I immediately abandoned the car and whipped out my camera and got down as low as possible, as recommended, to get a good aspect in the view finder.
It is an amazing tribute to country tolerance that neither the birds or the local populace seemed to consider my actions in anyway untoward. The birds ignored me and went on feeding. The locals probably dismissed me as just another sad drunk who had collapsed in the gutter on the way home from the local RSL bingo hall, which is just around the corner. Sadly such incidents are not an uncommon event around the town, or so they tell me.

Ken maybe they just said "look at that galah". Nice shots. I like the first in particular.

    Cheers Dave

Thanks Dave. They were pretty hurried and so probably could be better. But my bones are old and my reflexes not what they used to be. Plus I felt a bit self conscious prone on a nature strip in the middle of town, But it was an opportunity too good to miss.

Ken, that is one trait of a good photographer - an eye for opportunity and persistence!

LOL Willie. Don't know about that. I reckon the consensus around town is more likely to be, " Who is that madman?"

Nice shots those. Must be great to see so many beautiful birds all the time.

I have a S90 in the car at all times or acts as a 2nd camera if I am out with the big one.
