Hi David, tis a beautiful rose indeed. I think I would have removed the 'past due' peddle on the left and darkened the leaves even more because of the distracting brown spots which take the attention away from the blossom. I love the subtle colors (or colours, if you prefer).

Willie or Jiro is fine by me.

    Re: Compassion

There is something so delicate about the way your captured this image that moves me, David. I like the fragility that I am seeing and the muted colors that you were able to preserve on the shot. True, it can still be "improved" but such is only a matter of personal taste. Whether you want to keep it this way or to enhance it further I personally think that it is a keeper. Thank you for sharing.

    Re: Compassion

Roses are so difficult to get absolutely perfect, David, but this is looking good.

True, I may have considered removing that faded petal before shooting; but that would have left a gap. Maybe cloning out just the brown area would be worth considering.

And I may also think about running the Blur Tool lightly around the foliage and slightly toning down that brighter area. But these are just very slight suggestions, it looks good as it is.

Thank you Jiro and Geoff.I appreciate your comments.

FWIW,I took the picture last August a few days after a car crash,in which my wife and I were injured and the car totalled.

I had a fractured sternum and I still don`t know how I managed to do it.It was the only shot I managed.

Good shot, Dave. It has a lot of depth and vibrancy.

Where are you in Swansea? I'm just down the road in Carmarthen.
