Ahhh...
I know this... are too paintful for me (sky conditions). HDR/bracketing might help in this case, but I have still to work on it.
Second one, have the foreground too dark, at least on my monitor

Wow. The second image is really breath-taking! I love how you were able to preserve those ray of light in the sky, Pat. On a personal taste, I would love to see this with more vibrant or saturated colors but that's just me. I always love dramatic skies and saturating the colors does that for me. I would also probably brighten up the dark areas on the lower right to show more details. Thank you very much for sharing them.

That little patch of darker cloud at the bottom right of the first one, is a nuisance.
