Which Printer Is Best For Using Refill Kits!
I'm trying to find a printer that is the best to use if you use refill kits
for refilling the ink cartridges instead of buying new ink kits.
The printing I will be doing will have both text & a picture on it and
will be heaver paper than regular paper printer paper.

I use both the Epson 1440 and 2880 with cartridges to very satisfactory results. However, the 1440 only does matte inks.

Besides epson any other printers you would recommend.

I know which one isn't; a Canon Pixma Pro since you always have to leave the top open.

Your using the refill kits & refilling those brands yourself Epson 1440 and 2880 or just buying already refilled cartridges.

I buy bulk carts and inks from inkjetmall and refill them myself...it is so significantly cheaper to do it this way. However, I only use carbon based B&W inks though they do carry the bulk color inks as well.

Check out MIS inks, www.inksupply.com. Their inks are very good as are their carts and they have very good technical support. I've used their Canon inks with an S9000 (kind of old now and had lots of head cleaning issues) and an Epson 1400. The Epson is a real bargain at about $200, with rebates, and it prints very well. The cost to fill your own carts runs somewhere around 1/10th the cost of buying new Epson ink. It's so cheap that using up ink becomes a non-factor in the cost of print making.
