Continuing Lightroom 3 Problem
I keep getting a message in LR 3 saying that the 'C' drive where the LR catalog is low on space... clear space etc., etc.
When I go to the 'C' drive there is a ton of empty space... 548GB free of 686GB... I don't understand? I keep deleting stuff, empty the trash... and it keeps coming up with the same message? I optimize the catalog, I have read and researched and can't figure out what the problem is?
I have 218 images on a memory card that need to get uploaded but I am afraid of causing a problem....
Does anyone have something new I can try or am I totally missing something?
TIA
Re: Continuing Lightroom 3 Problem
Sounds like the catalog may be corrupted. If you haven't done so already, try checking the catalog integrity, and see if any problems are reported. If there arre problems, you will probably need to replace the current catalog with a backup.

Re: Continuing Lightroom 3 Problem
Open LR, and go to the EDIT > Catalog Settings...
You will see a pull-down menu labeled "Back up catalog:" Select "When Lightroom next exits", and click "OK"
Now exit Lightroom. Before LR quits, you will see a popup, asking if you want to perform the backup or skip. There will also be a checkbox on this popup labeled something like "Perform integrity test"; check this box and then go ahead and do the backup. LR will test the integrity of the catalog before doing the backup, and report any errors (it may even be able to repair some problems). Try it and see what happens. I will be out of touch for the rest of the week, so if this doesn't work, I'm sure someone here will be willing try to help you out. Good luck!

Thank you, Al. I really appreciate your help.

I gave up on lightroom...bridge does what I want and CS5 finishes it. Minichris showed me how to use bridge effectively..perhaps you should drop him a pm tonight.
Re: Continuing Lightroom 3 Problem
I've backed it up again... and... checked the integrity... optimized the catalog... all seem to be fine. :o
