Some of our rescues have been brutalized by big dogs on the street or in a shelter. It takes Holly just a day or two to have the most fearful dog sleeping with her. Since the weather has been nice, I've been at the park more often lately and since I bought an X100, I've had something I can handle carrying when I don't intend to shoot.

Anyway, what I really wanted here was to isolate the way the light was hitting the old man to make him stand out more. After a few different edits this is what I came up with. I tried B+W but it feels too moody. Here in UK Mayors are elected by Councillors... The new Mayor of my Town, Brentwood, was sworn in at the Town Hall in the annual Mayor-Making Ceremony. Here in UK Mayors are elected by Councillors NOT by the Townspeople. The outgoing Mayor presents cheques to representatives of the chosen Charities -- we had a 'Lady Mayor' last year as well -- I go to take photos for some local newspapers and take my Wife then after all the Ceremony and some Council business we all get a free drinks and food session ! I used my PENTAX K10D with 28-70mm f4 SMC Pentax-FA AL lens and my flash was my Mecablitz 45 CL3 . Here are just a couple to show non -uk members --

Multiple vertical shots with a borrowed 21mm MF lens stitched with PS6.

Poor duck was supposed to stay on display until June 9th but mysteriously deflated. Theories going around are cigarette butts thrown at it or someone a airgun, etc. It was bringing a lot of fun to the city's people and visitors alike so whoever did this deserves to be hanged if caught.

Similar ducks done by the same artist have been displayed in other countries without mishap.

Hi all, i was bored and thought about practicing lighting for portraits, and couldnt think of how to go about it with out me being the model, than i remembered i have mannequins in the house, my grandfathers use to have people go through the house when he used the house as a starting point of the museum he spent a good portion of his life doing. And when he expanded the museum to the sheds he built he stopped showing people through his home and left the once scary when i was young mannequins where they were.

Anywho, enough of my history and to the point, i used the model to practice on. So here is the photo, and i didnt do much editing to it because i wanted to practice the light set up, as well as the set up. So please let me know where/how i can improve. I think the hair light could be in a different position but due to the painted hair its hard to tell with out a wig.
